- After completing his schooling in Dhanbad, he moved to Meerut to pursue his graduation.
- Upon graduating from college, he began working with a call centre in Delhi, where he worked for about one and a half years before he had to leave it owing to the 2008 recession.
- To become a ‘hero’ in the Hindi film industry, he landed in Mumbai in 2009, where he met Anurag Kashyap and gave him his writing sample for the film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur.’
