Some Lesser Known Facts About Yu Menglong

• Yu Menglong grew up in Ürümqi, Xinjiang, China.

• In 2007, Yu competed in SMG’s ‘My Show! My Style!’ competition and made it to the Top 16 in Xi’an province.

• In 2010, Menglong competed in a singing contest titled ‘Super Boy,’ which aired on Hunan TV. He, however, got eliminated later.

• Yu directed many music videos for songs like ‘Warm Happiness’ (2011), ‘An Unchanging Promise’ (2014), ‘Sleep Walk’ (2015), and ‘Mirror’ (2018).

• In 2013, Yu made a comeback on ‘Super Boy’ and reached the Top 10 in the finals.

• In 2014, Yu appeared in a short film titled ‘The Rules.’ The film later earned the Best Independent Film award at the 4th International Micro Film Festival for University.

• His performance as ‘Qi Han’ (the 9th prince) in LeTV’s series ‘Go Princess Go’ (2015) was well-received by viewers.

  

• Apart from being an actor and music video director, Menglong was a singer. He released various singles, including ‘This Is Me’ (2015), ‘Father and Mother’ (2015), ‘Gaze’ (2016), and ‘The Future Me’ (2018).

• Yu played the role of ‘Ma Meng’ in the film ‘Dream Come True’ (2015).

  

• He appeared in many other films, such as Long Long in ‘Love Has Been Here Before’ (2015), Tian Hao in ‘Love Studio’ (2016), Mu Qi in ‘For Love to Let Go’ (2016), and Tan Gang in ‘Intrude The Widow Village at Midnight’ (2017).

  

• In 2017, he played the role of ‘Bai Zhen’ in the television series ‘Eternal Love,’ which aired on Dragon TV and Zhejiang TV.

  

• He appeared in other television series, including ‘Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud’ (2017), ‘All Out of Love’ (2018), and ‘Feud’ (2025).

• On 11 September 2025, Menglong fell from a fifth-floor apartment in Beijing and died at age 37. Police confirmed no foul play was involved.
