• Yaya Muñoz grew up in Ibagué, Colombia.

  

• She became interested in modelling when she was very young.

• At 14, Yaya dreamt of participating in the National Beauty Pageant. She used to watch it on television and tell her mother about her aspirations.

• Muñoz admires actor Gal Gadot. She drew inspiration from Gadot to pursue her dream of competing in beauty pageants.

• In 2011, for the first time, she participated in a competition organised by the Departmental Social Manager under the government of Óscar Barreto Quiroga. Although she did not win, she was chosen to represent her region at the ‘Reinado Nacional del Mar’ (trans. National Reign of the Sea), where she earned the title of princess.

• In 2014, she was selected to compete in the Reinado Nacional de la Ganadería (trans. National Livestock Reign). However, she could not participate due to a skin problem caused by stress.

• In 2014, she underwent two surgeries, a nose job and breast augmentation.
