Mr. Y. S. Chowdary completed his graduation in mechanical engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad. After graduation, he pursued a master’s in machine tool engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in 1986.

His grandfather, Mr. Y Janardhana Rao is a retired IPS officer. His father, Y Janardhana Rao was a Superintendent Engineer in the Andhra Pradesh Government’s AP Irrigation and Power Department.

Mr. Y. S. Chowdary is the Chairman of the executive committee of the charitable society, Share Medical Care. The society has its own institute called the MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences, which has a medical college, a nursing college, and a hospital with 600 free service beds.
