Vikram Salgaocar belongs to the Salgaocar family of Goa who own owns the V.M. Salgaocar Group of Companies. The company mainly deals in iron ore, coal, and wind energy.

In 2007, he started working as an associate at McKinsey & Company and later became the Business Development Manager at Reliance Entertainment.

In 2010, he joined Reliance Entertainment again as the Business Development Manager and worked there for two years.
