Some Lesser Known Facts About Vikas Kandola

• Vikas Kandola is an Indian kabaddi player who plays as a raider for the Indian national team. He plays for the franchise Kabaddi teams Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers, Dabang Delhi, and East Central Railway in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).

• According to a media report, he began practising Kabaddi at the age of eight at the local Kabaddi court of his village in Haryana. His coach, Dharm Raj, motivated him to participate in inter-school national Kabaddi championships. Thereafter, he moved to Bhalgarh in Sonepat to get training for a year at the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The following year, he shifted to Gujarat and practised Kabaddi at SAI Netaji Subhas Western Centre, Gandhinagar, for three years.

• In 2016, he won a gold medal in the Junior Kabaddi championships organised in Iran.

• Vikas Kandola has won two gold medals in the Senior National Kabaddi Championships, two gold medals in the Junior National Kabaddi Championships, a gold medal in All Indian Inter University Kabaddi Championships, a gold medal in under-19 Kabaddi Championships, and a gold medal in under-17 Kabaddi championships.

  

• Vikash made his debut in the fourth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) with the Dabang Delhi team in 2016. In this match, he scored 3 points in 17 raids. In Season 5 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Haryana Steelers bought him for Rs. 15.24 lakh, and he scored 58 points in 9 games.

  

• Later, Haryana Steelers kept him for Season 6 at Rs. 47 lakh, where he scored 177 points. For Season 7, they retained him for Rs. 77.83 lakh, and he scored 195 points in 20 matches. In Season 8, he was retained for Rs. 87 lakh and scored 180 points.

  

• In Season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), he moved to the Bengaluru Bulls team for Rs. 1.70 crore and scored 139 points.

• Later, he was appointed as a Travelling Ticket Examiner in Indian Railways in Patna, Bihar, and in 2019, he played for Railways during the 3rd Kabaddi Federation Cup championships.

  

• Vikas Kandola then participated in the fifth season of PKL in 2019. In the same year, he participated in the 13th South Asian Games organised in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Janakpur and won a gold medal.

  

• In his leisure time, Vikas Kandola likes travelling to distant places, rafting, swimming, trekking, hiking, and running.

  

• He is a fitness enthusiast and goes to the gym daily. He often shares pictures and videos of his gym sessions on social media.
