• Vidwath started playing cricket at 10.

• Vidwath played various sports in school such as hockey, football, handball, and basketball.

• Due to fewer opportunities in cricket in his hometown, Vidwath shifted to Bangalore after completing his 10th to pursue cricket further.

• Vidwath wanted to join the army before coming into cricket, his grandfather was also in the defence services.

• In 2022, Vidwath debuted for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He became the 300th player from Karnataka to play in the Ranji Trophy.

  

• In the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vidwath took 18 wickets in 8 matches with an economy of 6.36 and ended up as the second-highest wicket-taker in the competition.

• Vidwath took 30 wickets in the Ranji Trophy season of 2022-23.

  

• In 2023, while playing for South Zone, Vidwath made headlines when he took 7 wickets in a single inning against West Zone and dismissed players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Suryakumar Yadav, and Prithvi Shaw.

• Vidwath was bought by Punjab Kings in 2023 for his base price in the mini auctions.

• Vidwath helped his team to win the Duleep Trophy 2023-24, he won the Man of the Series award and ended as the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the competition.

  

• Vidwath made his IPL debut on 9 May 2024 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he took 2 wickets in the first innings of the match but got no chance to bat as he was later substituted by Jitesh Sharma who came as an impact player in the 2nd innings.
