• Vicky was born into an upper-caste family but were poor farmers.

• He was a prolific discus-thrower, who had won 3 gold and 2 silver medals in the discus throw at the national level.

• He aspired to be a BSF soldier, and even joined Speed Fund Academy, Jalandhar, for training purpose. But instead of focusing on the training given over there, he got involved in trivial fights after which he left the training and got into bad company.

• At the age of 14, he picked up the weapons for the first time and due to his involvement in a brawl, an F.I.R. was registered against him. 

• He initially joined the Jaipal Singh gang, who was hammer thrower.

• He was the friend cum cook of the gangster, Shera Khuban, who was killed in a police encounter in 2012.

• He was involved in numerous cases, that included highway robberies and other criminal cases in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

• He hit the headlines after he, along with his aide Prema Lahoria, killed rival gangster Sukha Kahlwan in police custody when Kahlwan was heading for the court hearing. Vicky celebrated the murder case of Kahlwan by dancing around the dead body and made a video of it, which went viral.

• In December 2015, he was arrested as the main suspect in the murder case of the gangster, Sukha Kahlwan. Later, he was shifted to Nabha jail after a fight with a rival gang in Ropar jail. During his stay at the Nabha jail, he celebrated the murder of another rival gangster Jaswinder Singh Rocky, that too inside the Nabha Jail. On 27 November 2016, he escaped out the high-security Nabha jail.

• The Punjab Police had announced a ₹25-lakh cash award leading to his arrest.

• On 26 January 2018, he, along with his aide Prema Lahoria, was killed in an encounter with Punjab Police lead by AIG Intelligence Gurmeet Chauhan and Inspector Bikramjit Brar, at a Punjab-Rajasthan border village.
