• In 1989, Venu Swamy started his career performing the pooja ceremonies of Telugu films.

  

• Since then, he has been officiating the pooja ceremonies or prayer rituals conducted at the offices or residences of leading Telugu film actors, such as Rashmika Mandanna and Dimple Hayathi.

  

• He also gained popularity as an astrologer when some predictions turned true, such as the separation of Telugu film actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu immediately after their marriage in 2017.

• His predictions and astrology career were discussed on a live TV show in 2017, where human rights activist Babu Gogineni with supporting pieces of evidence questioned the achievements and claims that Venu Swamy mentioned on his website.

• Babu Gogineni also accused him of intruding on the private lives of prominent people without their consent as he often predicted the career, health, or personal lives of leading actors and politicians in public media.

• He received negative responses on social media when some of his political predictions turned wrong, such as Pawan Kalyan (10th Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since June 2024) losing the state election which he won. Also, about Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy (17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh) continuing as the chief minister after the 2024 state elections which he lost.

• In June 2024, he announced that he wouldn’t make any further predictions in the political field.
