  • Tirath Singh Rawat is an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
  • Tirath Singh Rawat’s career in politics started during his college days when he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student’s wing of the Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
  • He served the RSS as a pracharak (promoter) of the organisation from 1983 to 1988.
