• Tanushree Kaushal is an Indian TV actress. She is well-known for playing negative roles in various Hindi TV shows like Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (2006) and Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka (2007).

• She spent her childhood in Mumbai.

  

• Tanushree grew up watching her father, Kaushal Bharati, working as a director and writer. He wrote dialogues for numerous Hindi films like Dil Diya Dard Liya (1966), Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), and Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan (1978). After suffering heart failure at the age of 87, he passed away on 16 January 1995.

• Reportedly, Tanushree was once romantically involved with Rajkumar Santoshi.

• While working in the TV show Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann, Kaushal started dating TV actor Vineet Raina, who is known for starring in various Hindi TV shows like Maryada… of an Indian family (2007), Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai (2007), Maayka (2007), Udaan (2014), and Choti Sarrdaarni (2021). They got married in 2009. After two years, Raina and Kaushal got divorced stating that “they weren’t compatible”. Kaushal talked about their divorce in an interview and said,
  

  Only after the marriage did we realise that we were poles apart. He’s a good person but I think we both made the big mistake of getting married. We will soon file for divorce. ‘Marriages are made in heaven’ is bullsh*t and one should never go for a love marriage.”

• Tanushree Kaushal started her acting journey as a theatre artist and performed in a diverse range of plays across languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, and Punjabi.

• Transitioning to Hindi television, she began her journey with minor characters and supporting roles in several daily soap operas like Dial 100 (2001), Ssshhhh… Koi Hai (2002), and Rooh (2004).

• In 2003, she appeared in the film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne in which she played the role of Riya (Coco’s Mother).
  
• Simultaneously, she also appeared in various television commercials. However, her work largely went unnoticed.
• She gained recognition for her playing antagonistic characters in daily soaps.

• In 2006, she gained popularity with the TV show Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann on Zee TV in which she played the role of Menka Garodia, an evil ‘chhoti maa’ (stepmother) to the four daughters of the Garodia family. In the show, Menka desires for her son to inherit the entire Garodia estate and envies the money spent on the girls.

  

• In 2007, she starred in Zee TV’s Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka as Bulbul (Titli’s elder sister).

• In the following year, Vineet Raina and Tanushree Kaushal appeared as a contestant on the dance reality show Nach Baliye season 4.

  

• She was immensely appreciated for her role as Balbir Atwal/Bebe in Imtiaz Punjabi’s drama show Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja (2014) on Life OK.

• On 27 November 2023, Tanushree Kaushal’s ex-husband Vineet Raina got married to Apeksha Raina, who is a nurse.
  
  In a candid interview discussing his marriage with Tanushree, Vineet expressed that he hardly regarded it as a marriage since it lasted for less than a year. According to him, the union lacked love and bonding, describing it as a decision made in haste that went against the wishes of everyone. Furthermore, he added,

  I am grateful that I realised it wouldn’t work in a short time. I don’t talk about it because I don’t count it at all, and hence, it wasn’t difficult to move on from it. I don’t regret it because it was destined to happen.”

  He also compared his relationship with Tanushree to that of Apeksha and said,

  After that, this is the first time I am deeply in love with someone, and that’s Apeksha. This relationship hasn’t been hasty and has grown stronger with time. It’s a match made in heaven. We share similar likes, dislikes, and temperaments.”
