• Tanishka was born into a middle-class Punjabi family with roots in Delhi. 

• Just after her birth, her family shifted to Mangalore, where she lived for around 16 years, and later, moved to Bengaluru.

• She was always interested in acting, and at the age of 12, she participated in a kids’ talent-hunt show on Hungama TV titled ‘John Aur Kaun’, the winner of which would get a chance to act alongside John Abraham in a UTV film. Though she didn’t win the show, she reached the top 10.

• She started her career as a model by participating in Miss Teen Diva 2010 and reached the top 5. 

• She became one of the most recognizable faces when she was made the Brand Ambassador of the Westside stores in 2011.

• She was the 1st runner-up in the Miss Mangalore 2013 pageant.
