  • Sushant Mishra liked cricket since his childhood and used to play cricket with his friends in Shalimar Bagh Colony in Pundag, Ranchi.

  • He belongs to Tumoul (also spelt as Tumaul) village in the Alinagar block of Darbhanga district in Bihar but his father moved to Ranchi in search of a better career.
  • When India won the 2011 World Cup in India, he decided to become a cricketer. He trained under Satyam Roy at Harmu Youth Cricket Club (HYCC) in Ranchi in 2012.

  • Another coach Shashikant Pathak told him to become a fast bowler after seeing his bowling action.
