• Suman Mokhtarian grew up in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

  

• In 2012, he fought against Charlie Middleton for the J.N.I. Promotions, a fight promoter in North South Wales, Australia, and won.

  

• In 2013, Suman Mokhtarian competed in Rebel FC 1: Into the Lion’s Den against Mubarak Abdat.

• That same year, he competed at Tiger Muay Thai Bali and Mixed Martial Arts.

  

• Suman Mokhtarian then went on to participate in various MMA championships, including Rebel FC 2: Battle Royal (2014), Rebel FC 3: The Promised Ones (2015), Hex Fight Series 10 (2017), and Hex Fight Series 9 (2017).

  

• In 2018, he fought in UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 and UFC Fight Night 142.

  

• The following year, Suman Mokhtarian fought on the UFC Fight Night event at Sajik Arena 3 against Seung Woo Choi.

  

• He then retired from active competition and focused on coaching.

• In February 2024, Suman Mokhtarian survived an alleged assassination attempt near the Australian Top Team gym in Wentworthville, Australia.

• Reportedly, a man dressed as a food delivery driver tried to shoot him. The gun jammed, and Mokhtarian managed to flee.

• After that, the attacker was arrested and charged with attempted murder. However, he was later released on bail because there was not enough forensic evidence.

• In April 2025, an MMA event was cancelled because of fears that Mokhtarian might be targeted in a gang-related attack.

• On 8 October 2025, Suman Mokhtarian was shot dead in Riverstone, a western suburb of Sydney.

• According to the police, he was walking near Annaluke Street and Riverbrae Avenue around 6 pm when the attack happened.

  

• Suman Mokhtarian was taken to the hospital but died from a gunshot wound to his chest.

• The initial police investigations revealed that the shooting was a planned attack by a gang.

• The eyewitnesses claimed that they saw a red Audi speeding away from the scene after the shootout.

  

• Later, two vehicles suspected to be linked to the crime were found burned on nearby streets. The police said,
  

  We have the description of potentially one male in the vehicle. That’s all we know at this stage from the witnesses, [and it] was seen to speed away from the location, and that vehicle was found burnt out shortly thereafter.”

  

  

• Jason Joyce, Riverstone Police Area Commander, said in a media conference that the shooting was fearless and it was a shame for their community. He said,
  

  It’s very brazen, and it’s a shame that this is happening in our community. You’d want to think that in a residential area that people could wander the streets at that time of night and be safe, but we do believe it’s a targeted attack.”
