• Sulakshana Sawant is an Indian politician, social worker, and school teacher. She is the former President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, Goa.

• After completing her B. Ed., she started working as a chemistry teacher at Shri Shantadurga High School, Bicholim, Goa, on 14 June 2004.

  

• She was elected as the President of the BJP Mahila Morcha in March 2016. During her tenure, one of her main agendas was to get 33 per cent reservation for women in BJP. She then said that before the 2017 Goa polls, the reservation bill should have been passed in Parliament.

  

• During an interview, she said that the nation comes before any political party. She said,
  

  When we come from the Sangh, for us country comes before party. This sentiment of keeping nation first is taught to us by RSS. When someone does social work keeping this sentiment in mind or enters politics with the principle that nation should come first then whatever work we do is for the nation.”

• Under her leadership, the BJP Mahila Morcha (Goa) wing protested against the Hindi film Padmavati (renamed Padmaavat) for misleading the audience in 2018. ^[5]The Hindu

  If we go through the figures, the thing which is most significant is the mentality [of the criminal]. We need to change the mentality at the earliest. We cannot give protection to an individual. But an individual can act as a protector to any person in distress if he sees something wrong happening around him. This does not happen often.”

• Sulakshana Sawant is a religious person and has shared various pictures on her social media accounts in which she can be seen visiting various temples.
