Some Lesser Known Facts About Shruti Pathak

• She grew up in a middle-class family in Ahmedabad.

  

• Since childhood, she was inclined towards reading books.

• While she was studying in school, she participated in various singing competitions. Gradually, she started developing an interest in music, and she then started learning Indian classical music from Divyang Thakkar.

  

• After completing her graduation, she moved to Mumbai from Gujarat to make her career in singing.

• She then met the Indian musician Salim Merchant through her college friend. Salim asked her to sing a Gujarati song, he liked it and then offered her the song Mar Jaava in the Hindi film Fashion.

• She has lent her voice to various Hindi films songs like “Paayaliya” from Dev.D (2009), “Tujhe Bhula Diya” from Anjaana Anjaani (2010), “Haseena Tu Kameena Mein” from Happy Ending (2014), and “Soniye Dil Nayi” from Baaghi 2 (2018).

• On 6 September 2011, she appeared in the TV show MTV Unplugged Season 4.

• She has performed live at various events.

  

• In 2013, she wrote the song “Shubhaaramabh” from the Hindi film ‘Kai Po Che’.

• On 14 August 2015, Shruti Pathak started her YouTube talk show Guzzler Cafe.

  

• On 11 February 2018, she performed at the State Central Library Town Hall, Mumbai.

  

• Shruti Pathak has worked with the Indian table player Ustad Zakir Hussain.

  

• She loves to read ghazals of Khwaza Tariq Muhammad’s Diwan-E-Ghalib.
