• Shruti Choudhry is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress party. She won the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency and has served as a member of various Lok Sabha committees.

• Shruti grew up in a family of politicians in New Delhi.

  

• After completing her formal education, she practised law at Karanjewala & Co. for some time.

• She entered politics after her father’s demise in 2005. In a rare and unexpected gesture, her grandfather, Bansi Lal, recognized her as the next generation to enter politics in front of a grieving public by placing the pagri on her head. While talking about this incident in an interview, she mentioned,
  

  Honestly speaking, when I started out, I had mixed feelings about all this. The magnitude of the responsibility overwhelmed me, and I was aware that serving the people is possibly one of the toughest jobs in the world. I knew because I had seen my family do this for ages.”

• Before Shruti Choudhry, her father, Surender Singh, held the Bhiwani–Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency for two terms (1996–98 and 1998–99), while her grandfather, Bansi Lal, held the same seat for three terms (1980–84, 1984–89, and 1989–91).

• Shruti has stakes in 4 companies, Aldorado Resorts Pvt. Ltd, Amrit Mercantile Ltd, Marudhar Awas Pvt. Ltd, and Pluto Holding Pvt. Ltd. Her close political associate Jai Prakash Dalal is a director on the board of Ujwal Property Pvt. Ltd. along with Shruti Choudhry. ^[4]Mint
