Some Lesser Known Facts About Shpat Kasapi

• Shpat Kasapi was born and grew up in an Albanian family in the city of Tetovo.

• When he was very young, he lost his father. As he was deeply attached to his father, he went into a period of depression.

• In an interview, Kasapi mentioned that, to overcome depression, he started singing.

• In 1998, at the age of 13, at the children’s festival Bletëzat ’98 in Tetovo, he won his first award in singing.

• In 2002, he transitioned to mainstream pop music and also won the Këngët e Stinës festival award in Tirana.

• Soon, he became popular in the Albanian music industry. Some of his biggest hits included songs like Valle Kosovare, A më do?, Dashni pa limit, and Aroma e saj.

• In 2009, Kasapi participated in Festivali i Këngës 47 for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.

• Despite achieving popularity and early fame, he struggled with depression and anxiety.

• After being in a relationship for six years with Afërdita Dreshaj, Miss Universe Kosovo 2011, they also got engaged, but due to an unknown reason, they called off their engagement.

• Then he entered a relationship with Qendresa Dulaj, a model, but it did not last long. She also leaked their personal chat on her Instagram story, where she was calling Shpat a “liar” and “gay.”

• In 2021, he got married to Selvije Jaos. They also have a son together. In 2025, they got separated.

  

• On 26 November 2025, Shpat Kasapi was in Italy with his family for his son’s medical checkup when he suffered a heart attack. Even though his family provided first aid in the apartment, unfortunately, he did not survive.

• After his death, in an interview, his brother mentioned that he had some minor heart problems in the past, but they were not as serious.

• Shpat Kasapi enjoyed smoking occasionally.
