• Shireen Mirza is an Indian television actress, who is known for playing the role of ‘Simmi’ in the television show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ (2013) on Star Plus.

  

• In 2018, she was denied a house on rent in Mumbai as she was a Muslim, a bachelor, and an actor. ^[1]Shireen Mirza- Instagram Sharing her disappointment in an Instagram post, she said,
  

  Renting or buying a property in the city that never sleeps. Mumbai which prides itself on its cosmopolitan character is divided on basis of religion, profession and marital status?? I’m shocked to see that Mumbai which has given me so much that I don’t stop praising about Mumbai by calling it Aamchi Mumbai still doesn’t have a place for me and so many of us coming from out of town still struggling with identity crises.”

• In 2020, Shireen was tested positive for coronavirus. While she was quarantined, in an Instagram post, she shared,
  

  While being quarantined, I realised I have a chance to do something extraordinary to change the world and create one that’s full of love. A world where we are kind to each other and not judge others, and during such times I realised this. So, I urge all to spread love and kindness and respect one another.”

• In 2021, she got married to businessman Hasan Sartaj. On 23 October 2021, they married in a nikkah ceremony in Jaipur. They had the reception ceremony on 24 October in Delhi. The wedding was attended by the cast of the show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ that included Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Aly Goni and Krishna Mukherjee. In an interview, she shared how she met Hasan and said,
  

  I met him at the airport before the lockdown and was looking to borrow a charger since my phone battery had drained out. It was just a conversation that lasted few seconds. Later he found me on Instagram and messaged me to which my management replied. Destiny played its role here and we met again on a matrimony app where we started talking, because we couldn’t meet in person due to Covid. I got Covid, so I was going through a tough time and he was by my side that’s when I knew this bond will last forever.”
