• Her father wanted her to become a lawyer.

• Initially, her parents were not happy with her decision to become an actress.

• In 2001, she acted in the Telugu film ‘Shivani.’

• She has acted in many Hindu TV serials including ‘Hatim’ (2004), ‘Sanjivani’ (2004), ‘Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi’ (2007), ‘Waaris’ (2008), and ‘Maayka’ (2008).

  

• She played the role of Raksha Lokhande in the Hindi web series ‘Kadiyaan’ in 2024.

  

• In 2007, she got engaged to her co-actor Romit Raj. They were set to get married in November 2009. However, a month before their wedding, they broke up due to differences in their families’ opinions.

• In 2008, she shared that the most expensive outfit she ever bought was a saree worth Rs 25000.

• Initially, she did a couple of Telugu films, but they were shelved.

• However, she came into the limelight for playing the role of Koyal Ghotak Narayan in the Hindi TV serial ‘Chidiya Ghar’ (2011).

• In 2016, she left ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ due to her health issues and problems with the serial’s team and production house. She even took the support of MNS’s (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) leader Raj Thackeray, after she was replaced by Shubhangi Atre.

• She did an item song “Maro Line” in the Hindi film ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’ (2017), after which she was trolled on social media for being overweight.

  

• In 2017, she participated in the reality TV show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 10.’

  

• During the show, she also shared that the later Indian TV actor Sidharth Shukla was her boyfriend, and they broke up because Shukla was very aggressive and abusive in their relationship. She said once Shukla even threw her out of a moving car.

• On 14 January 2018, Shilpa was declared the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 11.’

  

• In 2022, she renovated her farmhouse. She did all the construction work including cutting tiles with a stone cutter and painting the walls.

• In October 2022, she slammed Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 judges Karan Johar, Madhuri Dixit, and Nora Fatehi after being evicted from the show in which she participated as a contestant. She alleged that the judges were very harsh on contestants’ performances and requested that they go easy on the contestants.

• In 2024, she participated in the reality TV show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 14.’

  

• Shilpa has pledged to donate her organs to the Amar Gandhi Foundation.
