• Shailesh Jejurikar was born in Mumbai to a Maharashtrian father and a Gujarati mother.

• He went to Hyderabad Public School from Class 8 and became the head boy there. He became friends with Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft.

• During his school days, Shailesh Jejurikar was a good cricket player and played for the Hyderabad cricket team in under-17 matches.

• He joined Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 1989 as an Assistant and Brand Manager for Personal Health Care in India. He served in the position till 1996.

  

• After that, Shailesh Jejurikar worked in different countries, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, in the areas of Health Care, Fabric Care, and Beauty Care.

• He has had executive jobs in Brand Building, starting new businesses, and working on sustainability.

• In 1996, Shailesh Jejurikar was appointed as Marketing Manager in East Africa.

• In 1999, he began working as Marketing Director in India.

• In October 2021, he started working as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

• As COO, Shailesh Jejurikar was in charge of profits and losses for P&G’s Enterprise Markets, which included Latin America, India, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe.

• He also led teams in Information Technology, Global Business Services, Sales, Market Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and New Business for the company.

• In July 2025, it was announced that Shailesh Jejurikar would become the CEO of P&G starting from 1 January 2026, becoming the first Indian to lead the company in its 187-year history.

• He became the second CEO of P&G who was not born in the United States since 1837. The only other non-US-born CEO was Durk Jager, who came from the Netherlands and became CEO in 1998.

  

• Shailesh Jejurikar is the Chairman of Cincinnati Centre City Development Corporation.

• He is a Board Member at Otis Elevator Company and leads the Compensation Committee there.
