• Shahana Goswami grew up in New Delhi.

  

• She was the sports champion in her school and once secured second place at the National Artificial Wall Climbing Competition. She competed for her school in athletics, volleyball, basketball, and badminton at the zonal level. Shahana was also the house captain in her school.

  

• She is a trained Odissi dancer; she learnt it from Kiran Segal, a classical dancer, for 10 years.

• She received her first paycheck of Rs. 3000 when she was 12.

  

• At the age of 18, Shahana moved to Mumbai from Delhi to pursue a career in acting.

• She started her career as a production assistant at theatre director and producer Jaimini Pathak’s theatre group Working Title in Mumbai. She then acted for the first time in the production ‘Seagull.’ Later, she performed in the play ‘Arabian Nights.’

  

• Shahana landed a role in the film ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota’ (2006) after auditioning for it on the advice of talent consultant Shaanu Sharma, whom she knew from theatre.

• During a visit to a production house for some reason, she ended up getting the role of ‘Gina’ in the film ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ (2007).

  

• In 2008, she appeared as ‘Tara’ in the film ‘Ru Ba Ru.’ She secured the role when she was in college and even filmed her first scenes for the film in Bangkok before working on her debut film ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota.’

  

• While casting for the film ‘Rock On!!’ (2008), her friends Shaanu Sharma and Simran, suggested her name to the director Abhishek Kapoor. After auditioning, she got the role of ‘Debbie Mascarenhas’ in the film, which marked a significant turning point in her career.

  

• Shahana has appeared in many other films such as ‘Jashnn’ (2009), ‘Break Ke Baad’ (2010), ‘Ra.One’ (2011), ‘Heroine’ (2012), and ‘Neeyat’ (2023).

  

• In 2010, Shahana and Milind Soman, an actor and model, started dating. They, however, broke up in February 2013 as Shahana wanted to get married, while Milind was not ready to commit.

  

• Shahana has also worked in English and Bengali language films like ‘Midnight’s Children’ (2012) (English), ‘Vara: A Blessing’ (2013) (English), ‘Under Construction’ (2015) (Bengali), and ‘Made in Bangladesh’ (2019) (Bengali).
  

  

  

• In June 2015, Shahana moved from Mumbai to Paris to explore more career opportunities in acting. There, she met Mauro Gazzi, the owner of an Italian restaurant named Drogheria Italiana, where she worked.

  

• While living in Paris, she soon started dating Mauro and even entered into a live-in relationship with him. They, however, broke up when Shahana moved back to India in 2020.

• In 2020, she played the role of ‘Meenakshi Mehra’ in the British television drama miniseries ‘A Suitable Boy,’ which aired on BBC One.

  

• She has appeared in many other series such as Netflix’s ‘Bombay Begums’ (2021), and Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Last Hour’ (2021) and ‘Hush Hush’ (2022).
