• Savitha Shri B started playing chess because of her elder brother who used to play chess part-time. She became interested in playing chess while watching him.

• When she was 5 years old, she played her first chess tournament and performed well.

• Soon, her father noticed her interest in chess and allowed her to play in many other chess tournaments.

• After that, when she started winning chess tournaments, her father left his job to accompany her to different chess championships organized in India or abroad.

  

• In 2017, Savitha Shri B participated in the national Under-9(G) chess championships.

• After that, she participated in many chess championships including Under-11(G), Under-12(G), Open World Championship, Women’s Team World Rapid Chess Championships in Asian games, and FIDE World Rapid Chess Championships.

• She earned her first Woman International Master (WIM) norm in 2019 at the Grenke Open in Germany.

• Savitha Shri B became the highest-rated female chess player born in 2007 or later, according to the FIDE ratings issued in April 2021.

  

• Savitha Shri B competed in the Belgrade Spring Festival chess tournament in Serbia in 2021.

• After that, she played 5 consecutive chess tournaments in Europe, which increased her rating from 2230 to 2439.

• In 2022, Savitha Shri B participated in the Czech Pardubice Open and played against GM Bryan Smith.

  

• Savitha Shri B earned her second Woman International Master (WIM) norm in March 2022 at the Mix-200 event in Serbia.
