• He was just 10 when he became a Hafiz-e-Quran, one who memorizes the whole Quran.

• In December 2015, ‘Quetta Gladiators’ picked him up for the 2016 season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and was also selected to lead the team. Under his captaincy, the team made it to the finals losing just 2 of their league matches. The team, however, could not bag the trophy after getting to taste a defeat by the hands of ‘Islamabad United.’ Despite the defeat, Sarfraz was the youngest and most successful captain of the 2016 season of the tournament.

• After Azhar Ali stepped down as the captain of Pakistan from One Day format, Sarfraz was selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board to fill the vacant position. His first series as a captain of ODI was a 2-1 victory over West Indies. The same year, he was named as the vice-captain of Pakistan Test team.

• As of June 2017, he holds the record for most dismissals in an innings. He took 6 catches and scored 49 runs off 49 balls in a match against South Africa in March 2015 and was crowned the Man of the Match.
