According to Sarabjot, initially, he wanted to be a footballer, but an incident occurred where he saw some kids aiming at paper targets with pistols during the summer camp. This scene left a major make on his mind and he decided to pursue shooting. He expressed his desire to become a shooter to his father but he was not in favour of him pursuing a shooting career as it was expensive. Sarabjot somehow convinced them and pursued shooting as a career.
Sarabjot first won the silver medal in his first district-level tournament and then started taking professional guidance under coach Abhishek Rana. He has been training Sarabjot since 2016.
Sarabjot won double gold at the 65th National Shooting Championships in the team event at MP Shooting Academy in Bhopal in December 2022.
Sarabjot won the junior world championship in 2021 for both team and mixed-team events and earned a gold medal with a score of 16-0 in the World Cup’s first final match in March 2023. During the competition, he became the top scorer by earning 585 points. He secured the top spot with 253.2 points.

In August 2023, the Indian team consisting of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema got an aggregate score of 1734 in the finals. Individually, Sarabjot scored 578 points.
Sarabjot’s mental and physical health was not perfectly fine during an event in Cario. He was in regular touch with a psychologist to improve his concentration.
He is a fitness enthusiast and follows a strict fitness regime.
