Some Lesser Known Facts About Sanjay Saraogi

• During his college days, Sanjay Saraogi joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and served in various positions for 10 years.

• In 1999, he was appointed as the District Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

• In 2001, Sanjay Saraogi began his tenure as President of the Darbhanga Municipal Board, a position he held as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

• In 2002, he was elected a councillor from Ward No. 6 of the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation in Bihar.

• In 2003, Sanjay Saraogi was appointed as the General Secretary of the Darbhanga District as a candidate of the BJP.

  

• In February 2005, he was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Darbhanga Sadar constituency. 

• He then served as a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly for six consecutive terms since 2005.

• In 2010, Sanjay Saraogi defeated his opponent and an RJD candidate by a margin of 26,000 votes from the Darbhanga Sadar constituency.

• In 2015, he defeated Om Prakash Kheria, the Mahagathbandhan candidate and former mayor, by a margin of 7000 votes in the Bihar assembly election.

  

• In 2017, Sanjay Saraogi started working as the Chairman of the Estimates Committee of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

• In April 2018, he started working as the Chairman of Prakalan Samiti.

• In 2020, during the Bihar Assembly Election, Sanjay Saraogi defeated Amarnath Gami, an RJD candidate, by a margin of over 10,000 votes.

• In February 2025, he was designated as the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms Department in the Bihar Government.

  

• He has served as the coordinator of the Bihar State BJP Cow Protection Cell, a member of the State Working Committee, and a member-in-charge in several districts for the party for organising elections.

• In December 2025, Sanjay Saraogi was appointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state president in Bihar.
