- Sagarika was born in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where she stayed until the age of 8. She then shifted to Ajmer, Rajasthan to attend a boarding school.
- She belongs to a royal family as Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur is her forefather.
- Sagarika is best remembered for her role of ‘Preeti Sabharwal’, a Hockey player, in the 2007 blockbuster- Chak De! India. Also, in reality, she is a former national level Hockey player and thus adopted the role easily.
- Her first lead role came opposite Emraan Hashmi in the movie Rush (2012). The movie, however, could not do well at the box-office.
