• Sagar Thakur aka Maxtern was born in a very remote village in Bihar. He had to walk for 7 km to reach his village as there were no roads.

• His father worked in Delhi in 1997 where he earned a monthly salary of Rs 3300.

• When Sagar was three or four years old, he came to Delhi where he lived in a single room in the Temple Colony in Samaypur Badli area of Delhi.

• He later attended a government school in Delhi but later dropped out of his studies as the environment there was not good for his studies.

• He was interested in gaming since his childhood as he played games on his cousin’s computer.

• Sagar later moved to Sonipat, Haryana where he completed his schooling.

  

• When he started studying in college, he started uploading gaming videos on YouTube. He played mini militia games and uploaded videos with clickbait thumbnails such as Militian vs CarryMinati due to which his channel got deleted after getting 1000 subscribers.

• While studying in the first year of college, Sagar started uploading videos on a channel of one of his friends which generated a monthly revenue of around Rs 600 for him.

• In 2018, he started playing PUBG: Battlegrounds game on his mobile which had more than 1 crore views.

• He later started his YouTube channel named Maxtern which later became popular.

• He has been associated with several organisations such as Team SouL, Skyline Gaming, and Global Esports.

• In 2021, he received a sponsorship contract from a betting company for Rs 40 lakhs which he rejected as he did not want to promote betting at that time.

• In a podcast, Thakur revealed that when PUBG gaming was popular, he earned around a monthly salary of Rs 8 lakhs.

• He lives a very simple life. When he was earning lakhs, he wore clothes from Vishal Mega Mart as he was not aware of many clothing brands.

• He said in an interview that he felt very demotivated when PUBG was banned in India.
