Some Lesser Known Facts About Sagar Sharma

• Sagar Sharma is an Indian e-rickshaw driver who was responsible for the parliament security breach on 13 December 2023.

• Sagar Sharma considers Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh and Argentine Marxist diplomat and military theorist Che Guevara his biggest inspirations and he tries walking on the same path as both of their idols did.

• Sagar always wanted to study further after class 12th but he couldn’t because his parents were not financially strong to support his education.

• After clearing his class 12th board exams in 2015, Sagar Sharma started writing a personal diary, which he wrote until 2021. The first page of the diary, which he wrote on 8 June 2015, started with “Inquilab Zindabad.” On another page, he quoted a couplet from Ram Prasad Bismil. Sagar Sharma’s diary contained 30-odd names with their phone numbers, most out of which were no longer operational. In his diary, he had also written

• Sagar had a great collection of books that included Sherlock Holmes: Jasoosi Ki Rochak Aur Romanchak Duniya, and the Hindi translation of Adolf Hitler’s autobiographical manifesto ‘Mein Kampf.’ ^[5]The Times of India

• In 2018, Sagar went to Bangalore for a few years to work at a flour mill as one of his friends had offered him the job. Sagar quit the job in 2020, he came back to his home and started riding an e-rickshaw.

• Sagar wanted to be part of the Indian Army; however, he couldn’t get in as he failed the test multiple times.

• Before going to Delhi in December 2023, Sagar made an Instagram post where he said
  

  Jeete ya hare, par koshish to zaruri hai. Ab dekhna ye hai safar kitana haseen hoga. Umeed hai fir milengey (Making an effort is important whether you win or lose. Let’s see how beautiful the journey will be. Hope to see you again).” ^[6]India Today

  Sagar didn’t tell his parents about what he was actually going to Delhi for and instead, he lied to them by saying that he was going to take part in a protest.
