Some Lesser Known Facts About Sagar Rana

• Sagar Rana was an Indian former junior national wrestling champion. He won many awards and body-building competitions.

• He was born and raised in Haryana, India.

• Sagar was inspired by wrestler Sushil Kumar to take up wrestling as his professional career.

• He started his wrestling training at the age of 6.

• He was trained in pehlwani wrestling at the Akhada Chattrasal Stadium, Delhi.

• On the night of 4 May 2021, Sagar Rana was murdered by a group of people in the parking lot of Satapal Akhada Chattersal Stadium, Delhi. India’s two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar‘s name appeared as one of the accused in connection with the murder of Sarag Rana.
• An FIR was launched against Sushil Kumar and four other people on 5 May 2021 in the murder case of Sagar Rana. He had been absconding since the FIR was registered against him. Later, a lookout warrant was issued against Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar by the Delhi Police. A bounty of Rs 1 Lakhs and Rs 50,000 on Sushil and Ajay, respectively, was also announced for any information regarding them.
