Some Lesser Known Facts About Rushad Rana

• Rushad Rana is an Indian actor, who mainly works in Hindi TV serials. In 1998, he played the role of Raghav in Zee TV’s serial ‘Hip Hip Hurray.’

• While he was studying in school, he used to participate in various school plays and fancy-dress competitions. In his teens, he used to go alone to watch films in theatres.

  

• While growing up, he used to observe his uncle, who was a model. Gradually, he started developing an interest in modelling. While he was studying in college, he did his first TV commercial for Vicks. Later, he prepared his portfolio and send it to various modelling agencies. One of the modelling agencies liked his portfolio and recommended his name to the makers of the Hindi TV serial ‘Hip Hip Hurray.’

  

• He has worked as an actor in various Hindi TV serials like ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ (2001; Star Plus), ‘Kehta Hai Dil’ (2002; Star Plus), ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ (2011; Sony), and ‘Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ (2016; Colors TV).

• Rushad played a cameo role in the Hindi film ‘Veer Zaara’ in 2004 in which he played the role of Sahir. He has played supporting roles in various Hindi films like ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ (2008), ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’ (2012), ‘Gangoobai’ (2013), ‘Calender Girls’ (2015) and ‘The Path of Zarathustra’ (2015).

  

• In 2010, he got married to Khushnum in a traditional Parsi wedding ceremony. However, within three years of their marriage, the couple got divorced. In an interview, Rushad shared the reason behind their divorce. He said,
  

  It was a love-cum-arranged marriage. But, from the beginning, my ex-wife’s family was not able to accept my career. They felt that it was not a secure profession, and I should pursue a corporate job. I received many acting offers during that time, but I was always unhappy shooting, because I was influenced into thinking that the profession was not right for me. Suddenly, I changed from being this happy-go-lucky guy into a man, who was not happy with his life. I tried to make my marriage work, but eventually, it didn’t work out.”

• In 2020, he acted in the popular Star Plus TV serial ‘Anupamaa’ in which he played the role of Aniruddh Gandhi. While shooting for the TV serial, he met Ketaki Walawalkar, the creative director of Anupamaa. However, they became friends only after they met on a dating app in December 2021. In an interview, while talking about dating Ketaki Walawalkar, Rushad said,
  

  Ketki and I didn’t start dating when I was doing the show because of my professional ethics, I don’t date anyone on the sets. In December last year we met through a dating app and that’s how we connected. Managing time between us is tricky, but the onus is on her because she is busier than me. Yet, she finds time to meet and sometimes we just meet near my house for a few minutes.”

• In 2020, he acted in the Hindi web series ‘Peshawar’ as Herrat. The series was streamed on Ullu TV. Some of his other Hindi web series are ‘Crashh’ (2021; ALT Balaji), ‘Aashram Season 3’ (2022; MX Player), ‘Modern Love Mumbai’ (2022; Amazon Prime Video), and ‘Miya Biwi Aur Murder’ (2022; MX Player).

• In 2020, he was appointed as the brand ambassador of the NGO named AMAFHHA, which provides food supplies to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

• He regularly workouts at a gym to maintain his fitness.

• He has appeared in TV commercials for various brands such as Berger Paints, McDonald’s, Havells Fans, Pureit Water Purifier, and Fixderma.

• He has also acted in the Hindi short film ‘Dryfruit Ka Halwa’ (2022), which was uploaded on the YouTube channel Chilsag Pictures.

  

• In 2022, Rushad appeared in the Hindi film ‘Judaa Hoke Bhi,’ which is the first feature film in India to be shot entirely using virtual production in a single film set.
