 Some Lesser Known Facts About Renee Sen

• Sushmita Sen adopted Renee on 30 June 2000.

  

• In an interview, Sushmita talked about how becoming a mother at 24 affected her career. When Renee was a kid, Sushmita gave up a role in a film with Akshay Kumar because Renee was very sick and hospitalized. Recalling the same, she said,
  

  I got a call from Bombay, My father was babysitting Renee and he said she’s been hospitalized and is very serious. I took a flight back, and said, ‘I know this is the end of my career, I’m so sorry.’ They were very nice about it, at least superficially I think. But I left and I came back to my daughter and then saw her through one week of hospitalization and then ran back to say I’m ready for the job, but the damage was done.”

• She has a desire to be an actress since the age of two.

• A skilled dancer, she once performed in choreographer Shiamak Davar’s show.

• In 2012, Renee walked the ramp for designer Nishka Lulla at the India Kids Fashion Week.
  

  

  During the fashion show, she also walked the ramp with her mother, Sushmita, and sister, Alisah.

  

• In an interview, Sushmita revealed that when Renee turned 16, Sushmita offered to locate her biological parents. Sushmita said,
  

  I told her we don’t know if the court has the names of her biological parents but there is information in an envelope which is only rightfully hers after she turns 18.”

  However, when Renee turned 18, she told Sushmita that she had no interest in knowing the details of her biological parents. ^[2]Hindustan Times

• In her debut short film Suttabaazi (2021), Renee played the role of Diya, a 19-year-old who loves social media and finds relief in smoking. The film was screened on the Bandra Film Festival’s YouTube Channel under the ‘Quirky’ category.

• In the same year, she appeared in the Hindi short film Dramayama (2021) in which she played the role of Diya, alongside Darsheel Safary.

  

• Renee received training in Kathak from Pritam Shikhare, Nupur Shikhare‘s mother. Nupur Shikhare is Sushmita’s fitness trainer.

• She is trained in classical music and often uploads her singing videos on her Instagram.
