• After a minor role in Dennis Dugan’s film Revenge of the Losers (2006) and a few appearances in short films, he worked as a stagehand and assistant director on Hernando Cortes Watson’s A Trip for Two (2014).

• He played in several short films again before landing a role in Martin Zandvliet’s feature film The Outsider released in 2018. He then appeared in 4 episodes of Mayans M.C.

• He then had starring roles in the Amazon Prime Video teen drama series Panic (2021), where he portrayed the role of Ray Hall, a legacy participant of Panic.

• He appeared in Neil LaBute’s thriller film Out of the Blue (2022). He was seen portraying the role of Connor.

• In 2024, Nicholson had his breakthrough after being cast by Parker Finn in the horror film Smile 2 where his character paid an homage to Jack Torrance, the character his father Jack played in The Shining (1980). The film was released in 2024 to critical and commercial success.

• In 2025, he appeared in the American comedy thriller film written and directed by Jimmy Warden in his directorial debut named Borderline. He portrayed the role of as Duerson, an obsessive fan of Sofia.
