Some Lesser Known Facts About Rangayana Raghu

• Rajashekhar who is the son of a noted playwright named Chandrashekhara Kambara was the one who encouraged Rangayana Raghu to act in plays and even suggested him to join a theatre group in Mysore.

• In 1988, Rangayana Raghu began his career in theatre and started working as a stage actor with B. V. Karanth’s theatre group named ‘Rangayana.’ He worked in the group till 1999.

• In 1995, he was cast in the Kannada film titled ‘Suggi’ which was supposed to be Rangayana Raghu’s debut film but the film was never released.

• In 2001, Rangayana performed his last theatre play.

• In the same year, he was cast in the Kannada comedy film titled ‘Kothigalu Saar Kothigalu’ in which he played the character of a police officer.

  

• In 2004, Rangayana Raghu along with his wife Mangala, started their own cultural organization and theatre group named ‘Sanchari.’

  

• In 2007, Rangayana Raghu was cast in the Kannada film titled ‘Maathaad Maathaadu Mallige’ in which he played the character of Kurupayya.

  

• Rangayana Raghu has been part of more than 150 Kannada films, as of 2024. Some of his Kannada films include ‘Olave Jeevana Lekkachaara!’ (2009), ‘Johny Mera Naam Preethi Mera Kaam’ (2011), ‘The Great Story of Sodabuddi’ (2016), ‘Johnny Johnny Yes Papa’ (2018), ‘Kousalya Supraja Rama’ (2023), and ‘Case of Kondana’ (2024).

  

• In 2024, Rangayana Raghu was cast in the Kannada legal thriller film titled ‘The Judgement- See You In Court.’
