Some Lesser Known Facts About Rajan Shahi 

• On 13 April 1993, Rajan Shahi shifted to Mumbai from Delhi to pursue a career in the film industry, at the insistence of actor P. Jairaj, his maternal grandfather.

  

• During his initial days, he worked as a junior artist for a daily wage of Rs 500 for advertisements.

• He assisted directors Ravi Rai and Mahesh Bhatt from 1993 to 1999.

• He became an independent director in 2000 with the show Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, written by Pearl Grey and starring Vishal Singh and Rupali Ganguly.

• Some of the other television shows directed by him are Bacha Party (2004) and Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg (2009).

• In 2007, he started his first production house, Director’s Kut Production, with its debut production, Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai (2007) on StarPlus.

• Director’s Kut Production is the television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai released in January 2009 with more than 4300 episodes as of June 2024.

  

• Some of the other popular productions are the Hindi television shows Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke (2019) and Anupamaa (2020) and the Marathi television show, Aai Kuthe Kay Karthe! (2019).

  

• In 2020, Rajan Shahi and his mother started a new production house, Shahi Productions Private Limited.

• He has a YouTube channel called Director’s Kut Productions, where online content such as short films, web series, and shorts related to celebrities are released.

• In March 2024, Rajan Shahi hit the headlines when he terminated the contract with actors Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
