• In 1985, he became a member of the Panel of Presiding Members of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

• In 1986, he became a Member of the Public Accounts Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

• In 1989, he became a Member of the Business Advisory Committee, Joint Committee on Public Sector Undertakings and Corporations and Estimates Committee under the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and remained till 1991. In 1993, he again became a member of the committee and remained for a year and again in 2007, he became a member and remained for a year.
• In 1993, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission of Uttar Pradesh (in the rank of Cabinet Minister).

• On 12 March 2007, the Hon’ble Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly released a compilation of his speeches in the Legislative Assembly covering the period from 1980 to 2006.

• In 2014, he became a Member of various committees including the Committee on Industry, the House Committee, the Hindi Salahkar Samiti for the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Select Committee of Rajya Sabha on the Payment and Settlement Systems (Amendment) Bill, 2014 and the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament.

• In 2017, he became a member of the Select Committee of Rajya Sabha on the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2017.

• In 2022, he became a member of the Committee on Water Resources, the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Library Committee.

• In 2023, he became a member of the Committee on Finance.
