• Prajakta Mali had a passion for acting and dancing since she was a child. She used to participate in various dancing competitions and theatre plays during her school and college days.

  

• At the age of 14, she emerged as winner of the Hindi dance reality TV show ‘Kya Masti Kya Dhoom’ (2001), which was broadcast on StarPlus.

• After making her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Swades’ (2004), she appeared in the film ‘Gandhi, My Father’ (2007) in which she played a small role.

• In 2011, she participated in season 5 of the Marathi dance reality TV show ‘Eka Peksha Ek —Apsara Aali.’ The TV show was aired on Zee Marathi.

• She essayed the role of Suman in the Marathi film ‘Kho-Kho’ (2011), starring Bharat Jadhav.

  

• She rose to fame after she played the role of Meghana Kudalkar Desai in the Marathi television series ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgathi’ (2013), which aired on Zee Marathi.

• In an interview, she revealed that she had to gain 11 kg of body weight for playing the role of Ratna, a sex worker in her Marathi debut web series ‘RaanBaazaar’ (2022).

• In the same year, she became the brand ambassador of India Jewellery Shopping Festival.

• She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture for pursuing higher studies in Bharatanatyam.
