  • After completing college, Parampal Kaur Sidhu appeared for the provincial civil services exams conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission and passed.
  • Following her appointment as a Block Development Panchayat Officer (BDPO), she became the first woman in Punjab to be given the post.
  • Parampal Sidhu served as a PCS officer till 2011 after the Punjab government filed an appeal with the Government of India seeking her induction as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
  • She completed her civil service training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, in 2016.
  • Although she became an IAS officer in 2016, the government granted her antecedent seniority due to her extensive service experience as a PCS officer and placed her in the 2011 batch.
