  • Pabitra uses the name of his native town Margherita in his surname which lies in the Tinsukia district of Assam.
  • Pabitra shifted to Mumbai after finishing his studies and worked in the corporate sector.
  • Pabitra served as the founder and Chief Editor of the monthly magazine ‘Maya’ from 1998 to 2002 and SaReGaMa from 2002 to 2005.
  • Besides politics, Pabitra has also acted in films. His first film was ‘Tumi Mur Mathu Mur’ released on 25 February 2000 opposite Munin Barua. Some of his other blockbuster hits are Junbai, Hero, and Mon Jaai.
  • In 2004, Pabitra started his own production house ‘Margherita and Associates.’ Assamese album, Prarthana, was the first full-fledged project produced under their production.
