He was the husband of South Indian actress Jayasudha.

He was the cousin of the veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra.

On 14 March 2017, he allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace at his sister’s flat on JP Road in Andheri West in Mumbai.

He had been unemployed for around 18 years and had been suffering from depression for the last 1½ years.
