  I don’t hide that I have had a tough life in many respects. I fought back a near-life-ending cancer, only to end up with multiple sclerosis years later. Doctors have since told me that the odds of contracting both diseases in the same life are something like two million to one!”

  Neil Cavuto added that after scanning his MRIs, doctors told him that he would not talk and walk. He said,

  Yet here I am, marching on, continuing to do my job when doctors who’ve examined my scans and MRIs tell me I shouldn’t be walking or talking.”

• In October 2021, he tested positive for COVID-19. On one of his social media accounts, he credited the vaccine for preventing him from a more serious outcome. He said,
  

  Had I not been vaccinated, and with all my medical issues, this would be a far more dire situation.”

• Later, Neil Cavuto contracted COVID-19 for the second time and was hospitalized with pneumonia. After recovering, he thanked vaccines again and encouraged their use.

• In October 2024, Cavuto criticized Trump for spreading misinformation about the government’s response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

• On 19 December 2024, Neil Cavuto left Fox News after 28 years. Reportedly, he declined a new contract.

• It was announced that rotating hosts would manage his program and a new host would be chosen in January 2025.

• After his exit from FOX News, Donald Trump criticised Cavuto on social media. He called his departure from Fox News good news for America. Trump wrote,
  

  GOOD NEWS FOR AMERICA! Neil Cavuto, the Lowest Rated Anchor on Fox, by far, is leaving – Should have happened a long time ago!”

  Cavuto responded to Trump’s criticism and said

  I don’t work for you. My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you.”

• Trump called Cavuto ‘one of the WORST on television’ after Cavuto wrote on social media that Trump had “decisively lost” his debate with Kamala Harris.

• Cavuto often corrected Trump’s statements, including his claims about COVID-19 and tariffs.

• One of his Fox colleagues Janice Dean, who also has multiple sclerosis once credited Cavuto for inspiring her to follow her dreams after her diagnosis.
