Some Lesser Known Facts About Narayan Sakar Hari

• In teens, he used to help his father on their farms.

• After completing his higher studies, he joined UP Police.

• He once said that he served in the UP Police Intelligence Bureau for more than 17 years.

  

• Later, he took early retirement from his services as he wanted to do spiritual work. His last posting was in Agra. Post-retirement, he started living in a hut in his village.

• However, according to some sources, he was only a constable and was jailed in a molestation case after which he decided to move to spirituality.

• According to his elder sister Sonkali, during his police job, he became mentally unstable which led him to leave his police job and embrace spirituality. Sonkali also revealed that he experienced a spiritual awakening while still in his police job.

• Initially, Narayan Sakar Hari started preaching spirituality among people in Uttar Pradesh.

• Instead of preaching any religion, he talked about humanity in his preachings.

• Soon, his satsangs named ‘Manav Mangal Milan Sadbhavna Samagam’ started gaining popularity among the people of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi.

• He does not wear saffron chola like many other Indian spiritual saints. He often wears a white suit, tie, and boots. Sometimes, he wears a white kurta-pyjama with sunglasses.

  

• He once shared that he did not use the donation money received from his followers for his personal expenses. Instead, he used the money for the benefit of his followers.

• His wife, mostly dressed up in a saree, accompanies him in his preachings.

  

• His ashram is spread over 30 acres in the village Patiyali, Uttar Pradesh. His followers also claim that there is no idol of God in the ashram.

  

• Reportedly, his followers are mainly women, who consider him Lord Hari. He also calls himself a disciple of Hari.

  

• His ashram’s volunteers are mainly dressed up in light pink uniform i.e., saree, kurta set, or kurta pyjama.

  

• According to some sources, the majority of his followers are from the backward class or Dalit samaj.

• In 2014, Narayan Sakar Hari, along with his wife, shifted his residence from Bahadur Nagar to Bichhwa in Mainpuri. However, in the Bahadur Nagar ashram, his kathas were oragnsied every Tuesday.

• His followers have started a YouTube channel named Narayan Sakar Hari Bhajan on which his bhajans are uploaded.

• Reportedly, during the Bahujan Samaj Party government in Uttar Pradesh, he used to arrive at satasng venues in a red light car.

• Various Indian politicians have attended his satsangs including President of Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav.
