Some Lesser Known Facts About Naina Jadeja

• Nayanaba A Jadeja is an Indian politician. The noted Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja is her younger brother. In November 2022, she came into the limelight when she received a ticket from the Indian National Congress to contest assembly elections from the Jamnagar constituency in Gujarat.

• When she began her political career in November 2022, it became an interesting incident when she was all set to contest against Rivaba Jadeja, who is her sister-in-law and the wife of Ravindra Jadeja. Rivaba received a ticket from the Bharatiya Janata Party to contest the elections from the Jamnagar constituency in Gujarat. ^[3]The Economic Times

• Before starting her career in politics, Naina used to work as a nurse in a local hospital in her hometown. Her mother was also a nurse who used to contribute a good income to her family. However, soon after the death of her mother, Naina took all the responsibilities of her home including her brother’s career who wanted to become a cricketer. Naina helped Ravindra Jadeja emotionally and financially in his struggling days and played an important role in Ravindra’s career.

• Naina Jadeja joined the Indian National Congress as a party worker in Rajkot, Gujarat in 2018. During her induction into the party, the Patidar Anamat movement leader Hardik Patel also joined the party.

  

• Reportedly, before venturing into politics in 2018, she was an active women leader from the Jamnagar constituency of Gujarat, where she frequently participated in political protests including the empowerment of women. As a party worker of the Indian National Congress, she was appointed as the District Women’s Congress President of Jamnagar soon after she joined the party.

  

• Naina Jadeja came into the limelight in 2016 when she accused an Ahmedabad-based event management company of cheating and fraud. She filed a complaint at Rajkot Taluka police station alleging that her family hired Absolute Events event management company to organise her brother’s wedding in 2016; however, later, her family members observed that the company was providing poor services to them. ^[4]Cricket Country Soon, they cancelled the contract with the company and demanded back their advance money of rupees six lakhs. However, the owner of the company threatened her and switched off his phone. She claimed,
  

  We had to switch to the services of a local event management company at the last minute. After the wedding, I contacted Absolute Events to discuss return of the advance payment of Rs 6 lakh but they threatened me. In fact, Kaival Patel switched off his mobile phone.” ^[5]Mumbai Mirror

• Reportedly, after the demise of her mother, Naina Jadeja left her job at the hospital as a nurse and joined politics. Her father used to work as a watchman in their locality. Later, her father joined politics along with his daughter. According to some media sources, Ravindra Jadeja was motivated by Naina Jadeja to choose cricket as a career.

  

• Naina Jadeja once talked about the balance her brother maintains at the cricket playground in a media conversation. She said that Ravindra was a brilliant cricket player. She said,
  

  Jaddu was brilliant. Everyone has performed to his ability. The total output of the team was outstanding. In Test cricket, Jadeja has been performing really well. He has been a balanced player. His batting has improved a lot. Jaddu is improving his game daily.”

• Naina Jadeja frequently attends many debates and talk shows on several noted Gujarati news channels as a panellist.
