- In December 2024, he hit the headlines after he claimed that he was kidnapped on the Delhi-Meerut Highway, like Sunil Pal, when he was on his way to attend an event. He claimed that the kidnappers tortured him for 12 hours and demanded a ransom of Rs. 1 Crore; however, when he failed to pay the amount, they took Rs. 2 lakh from him.
- He later escaped from the kidnappers and reached a police station, who lodged an FIR and helped him get back to Mumbai.
- Thereafter, the UP Police arrested four of the kidnappers who later revealed that they had planned on similarly kidnapping Shakti Kapoor. However, it did not happen as he had demanded a lot of money for fees.
