• Moin Ibrahim, also spelt as Moeen Ibrahim, is a Pakistani man who is known for being the son of gangster, Dawood Ibrahim.

• In 2011, he came into the limelight when his wedding faced two delays. The first was in mid-May due to the US operation against Osama Bin Laden, which drew international attention in Pakistan. After the Osama operation, the second delay happened when international pressure increased, leading Dawood Ibrahim to postpone the wedding for some period. Eventually, Moin’s marriage took place on 23 September 2011 at Dawood’s Karachi mansion, the White House, with around 2,000 guests in attendance. Moin got married to a wealthy Karachi businessman’s daughter named Saniya Shaikh, who reportedly helps in her family businesses in Pakistan and Britain, U.K. ^[3]NDTV Reportedly, infamous gangster Chota Shakeel attended the wedding ceremony of Moin Ibrahim and Saniya Shaikh.

• In 2017, senior police inspector of the Thane, Maharashtra, extortion cell, Pradeep Sharma, revealed in a media conference that his team had arrested gangster Iqbal Kaskar, the younger brother of Dawood Ibrahim. Pradeep said that Iqbal informed the police that his elder brother, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was going through depression. This was reportedly due to the absence of someone to manage his business after his only son, Moin Ibrahim, who distanced himself from the family. Pradeep Sharma mentioned that in a phone conversation between Iqbal Kaskar and Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld don expressed concerns about his health and was worried about who would take over his responsibilities. According to Iqbal Kaskar, Moin Nawaz Kaskar, had no interest in his father’s business and had dedicated himself to religion by becoming a Maulana or religious teacher in a mosque in Pakistan.

  

• Meanwhile, it was also revealed by some media outlets that Moin Ibrahim, along with his wife, Saniya Shaikh, and three children, were staying together in a residence provided by the mosque where Moin was employed. Reportedly, he began teaching religion and shared religious teachings.

• Pradeep Sharma shared in the media conference that Moin, who held a management degree, initially assisted his father for a few years. However, he later decided to step away and focus on spreading the teachings of Allah. Pradeep Sharma said,
  

  Moin is understood to be deadly against his father’s illegal activities which have given the entire family a notorious reputation worldwide and made many of them wanted fugitives everywhere. His son is practically estranged from the family and all its businesses since the past few years, but it is not clear if he is on speaking terms with his father.”

• During the investigation, Iqbal Kaskar informed that his nephew Moin Ibrahim was known for being a respected and qualified religious teacher, known as a ‘Maulana.’ Moin had achieved the status of ‘Hafiz-e-Quran,’ meaning he had memorized the entire ‘Holy Quran.’ In addition, he chose to give up the comforts of the family’s luxurious home in the stylish Clifton area, located in the upscale Saddar suburb of Karachi and opted to live a humble life in a mosque next to their residence.

  

• Iqbal Kaskar further added that in the mosque, Moin Ibrahim’s primary religious duties involved teaching the Holy Quran and Islamic teachings to young children. He was responsible for leading the call to prayers, conducting ‘namaz’ at various events, and fulfilling other social-religious responsibilities of a cleric. Pradeep Sharma shared with the media outlets that Moin decided to become a man of God. Pradeep Sharma said,
  

  Its clear that Moin, who could have inherited his father’s vast legal and illegal business empires, ironically, has decided to become a man of God and completely shunned a life of luxury which was at his command.”
