• Mohammad Hussamuddin is an Indian boxer. In 2018, he clinched a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games held in Queensland, Australia.

• He grew up in a Muslim family in Nizamabad, Telangana.

• Hussamuddin belongs to a pugilist family. His father, Mohammad Shamsuddin, is a coach and a former Indian boxer who has participated in national-level boxing tournaments. Hussamuddin’s elder brothers Etheshamuddin and Itishmuddin are professional boxers. In an interview, he talked about his family and shared that he has six brothers, among which five are boxers. He quoted,
  

  My entire family is into boxing, it’s literally what my background is. My father is a coach, my elder brothers are into boxing and I started when I was very young. I don’t think the presence of boxers in the family adds pressure. In fact, it brings me a lot of support whether it is from my father or brother because among us six brothers, five of us have been into boxing, so they get it.”

• Mohammad Hussamuddin, initially, took training to be a gymnast; however, his gymnastic coach moved to another state. Later his father, Shamsuddin, decided to give him training in boxing.

• In an interview, Mohammad Hussamuddin shared that when he first began his training in boxing, he was terrified of being hit during his practice. Later, his father, Shamsuddin, who is a coach and former Indian boxer, started his training which further helped Hussamuddin to deal with his fear.

• At the age of fifteen, Mohammad Hussamuddin started participating in boxing tournaments. In 2009, he won a bronze medal at Junior National Tournament held at Aurangabad. The same year, he clinched a gold medal at Senior National Tournament.

• Later, Mohammad Hussamuddin’s father, Mohammad Shamsuddin, decided to relocate Hussamuddin to Havana, Cuba for further training in boxing.

• In 2012, Mohammad Hussamuddin made his international debut by participating in the 2012 Tammer Tournament, Finland. The same year, Hussamuddin participated in Youth World Championship, Yerevan, Armenia.

• In 2015, he won a gold medal at the Military World Boxing held in Korea. The same year, he won a silver medal at the Gee Bee Boxing tournament held in Helsinki, Finland.

• Subsequently, he clinched various medals in tournaments like 68th Strandja Memorial Tournament, Bulgaria (2017), India International Open Boxing Championship, New Delhi (2018), and 69th Strandja Memorial Tournament, Bulgaria.

  

• In 2018, he participated in the Commonwealth Games, Bulgaria. He won a bronze medal in the tournament. Next, in 2019, he participated in the Asian Games, Jakarta.

  

• In 2022, he participated in the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.

  

•  His stance in the game is southpaw, and he participates in the men’s featherweight category.

• Reportedly, on 24 July 2022, Hussamuddin and his wife Ayesha got blessed with a baby girl. In an interview, Hussamuddin expressed his happiness about having a newly-born daughter and said,
  

  The birth of my daughter (on Friday) has doubly motivated me. It has given me a lot of happiness and confidence. I am sure something good is going to happen. My family understands my needs and has supported me like anything.” ^[2]Sportstar
