Some Lesser Known Facts About Minissha Lamba

• Minissha Lamba grew up in Delhi.

  

• While she was a child, she appeared in a few print commercials for brands like Vigil Soap and Cadbury’s Enriche.

  

• During her college days, she used to often bunk her classes. In an interview, while talking about it, she said,
  

  It was a girl’s college, there were no boys, so there was no motivation. Also because I was too busy doing summer jobs.”

• In her teenage, she wanted to become a journalist.

• While pursuing her BA in English (Hons.) at Miranda House (Delhi University), she did some of the commercials for Sunsilk, LG, Airtel, and Cadbury.

• She was also a part of the Femina’s Generation “W” advertisement.

• She then moved to Mumbai from Delhi to pursue her career as a model. Initially, she lived in a PG on rent of Rs 5000 per month in Mumbai. However, she left the PG after her landlady accused Lamba of stealing money from the landlady’s cupboard. Even though she was not financially sound at that time, she left the PG and rented a flat for Rs 7000 per month. ^[7]Koimoi

• Minissha has appeared in various TV commercials for brands such as LG, Everyuth, Cadbury, Dabur, Airtel, Femina Generation W, and Sunsilk.

• During an ad shoot for Cadbury, she was approached by the Bollywood director Shoojit Sarkar for the Hindi film ‘Yahaan’ (2005).

• She has also walked the ramp in many fashion shows in India.

  

• She has acted in many Hindi films such as ‘Corporate’ (2006), ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ (2007), ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ (2008), ‘Bheja Fry 2’ (2011), ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’ (2013), and ‘Bhoomi’ (2017).

• She appeared in the 2008 Hindi TV serial ‘Chhoona Hai Aasmaan;’ aired on Star One. She played the role of Kavya Shastri in the serial.

• Her major role was in the 2009 critically acclaimed director Shyam Benegal’s Hindi film ‘Well Done Abba’ & was awarded the National Film Award for Best Best Film on Social Issues for the year 2009. Minissha’s performance as Muskaan Ali was appreciated.

  

• She was featured in the 2012 Hindi music video “Tera Suroor Remix.” The song was sung by Himesh Reshammiya who also worked as the music director in the music video.

  

• She appeared in the Punjabi film ‘Double Di Trouble’ in 2014.

  

• In the same year, she participated in the Hindi reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss Season 8.’ The show was aired on Colors TV.

  

• In 2018, Minissha acted in a few Hindi TV serials such as ‘Tenali Rama’ (SAB TV) and ‘Internet Wala Love’ (Colors).

• In 2019, she participated in the Super Star League, a celebrity cricket league.

• She played the role of Haily in the Hindi web series ‘Badtameez Dil’ which streamed on Amazon Mini TV web series in 2023.

  

• Apart from films and TV serials, she has also performed in a few Hindi and English theatre plays such as MirrorMirror.

  

• For a few years, she has been playing poker professionally. She has also won various poker matches.

  

• During her spare time, she loves to dance, sing, and travel to various places.
