Some Lesser Known Facts About Milana Nagaraj

• Milana Nagaraj started swimming when she was five years old. She then became a state-level backstroke swimmer.

  

• When she was pursuing her 12th grade, an SUV hit her two-wheeler and she fell off. Reportedly, her leg bone was badly broken and needed a rod and screws to fix it. She stopped swimming after the accident.

• After finishing her computer science engineering, Milana Nagaraj did not want a full-time office job. A friend advised her to participate in the Miss Karnataka beauty pageant.

• She then participated in the Femina Miss Karnataka beauty pageant. She did not win the contest’s final round but was awarded Miss Best Personality in a sub-contest.

• During her modelling days, Milana Nagaraj started receiving offers from Kannada films.

• She debuted in the film industry with the Kannada film ‘Nam Duniya Nam Style’ in 2013. The film did not do well at the box office. However, before the release of her debut film, she had already signed up for her next film, ‘Brindavana.’

  

• In the film ‘Brindavana,’ Milana Nagaraj played the role of Madhu alongside actor Darshan. The film ‘Brindavana’ was a remake of the Telugu film ‘Brindavanam.’

• In 2013, she met Kannada actor Darling Krishna on the sets of the Kannada film Nam Duniya Nam Style. In 2015, they began dating and got married in 2021 in a private traditional ceremony on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

  

• In 2017, she appeared in two films. She debuted in Malayalam cinema with the film ‘Avarude Raavukal,’ appearing opposite Vinay Forrt. She then played the role of Aishwarya in the Kannada film ‘Jani,’ alongside Vijay Raghavendra.

  

• Milana Nagaraj returned to films after a three-year break with the Kannada film ‘Love Mocktail’ in 2020. She played the role of Nidhima, a software employee, opposite Krishna. She also worked as a co-producer of the film.

• She then went on to appear in many Kannada films such as ‘Matte Udbhava’ (2020), ‘Love Mocktail 2’ (2022), ‘Vikrant Rona’ (2022),  ‘Love Birds’ (2023), ‘Kousalya Supraja Rama’ (2023), and ‘For Regn’ (2024).

  

• She has also produced the film ‘Love Mocktail 2.’

  

• In 2023, a leading Indian news channel News18 highlighted her on-screen charm and star performance in the film ‘Kousalya Supraja Rama.

• Film journalist Sonu Venugopal once praised Milana in an article for Film Companion, a daily magazine. He highlighted her roles in many Kannada romantic comedies and advised her that she would be perfect for leading roles in the rom-com genre.

• Milana Nagaraj is a travel enthusiast and frequently travels to distant places in her free time. Bali, Dubai, Maldives, and Singapore are her favourite travelling destinations.
