• Matt Hardy was born at Cameron, North Carolina and started learning wrestling at very young age. 

• He was excellent at studies and for the same, he was offered Morehead Award (A Scholarship) in his school.

• His mother passed away of brain cancer in 1986 when he was only 12 years old.

• He has been a capable athlete since his childhood and very good in Soccer and Baseball. 

• After completing graduation, he co-founded Trampoline Wrestling Federation and Organization of Modern Extreme Arts (OMEGA) wrestling with his brother Jeff Hardy to promote the wrestling. 

• He made his WWE debut in 1994, losing to Crush. The time period between 1994 and 1995 had been the nightmare for him; as he constantly lost his matches against Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, Hakushi, The Imposter Undertaker, Hunter Hearst, The Ringmaster Steve Austin, and others. 

• He teamed up with his brother Jeff Hardy in 1996 and they played their first match as a tag team against The Smoking Guns, eventually, they lost it. 

• On July 5, 1999, Matt and his brother Jeff Hardy won their first tag team title defeating The APA. 

• He is 13 time tag team champion with his brother Jeff Hardy including 6 time WWE world tag team champion. 

• Matt Hardy was suspended from the WWE in 2005 for uploading a video on social media that was an unofficial conduct. But the same year in August, he made a comeback and attacked Edge who had a real-life relationship with his girlfriend (then) Lita.

• WWE officially released Matt Hardy from his contract with WWE on October 15, 2010. 

• In 2011, after being released from WWE contract, he joined TNA (Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling). 

• The police arrested him in September 2011 for keeping illegal substances at his home. Before that, the police searched his home and they found 20 vials of anabolic steroids and a hit of ecstasy. 

• He challenged his brother in an impact wrestling match and put the Hardy Brand on the line. Eventually defeated him and became the lone owner of the Hardy Brand. 

• Matt Hardy with his brother Jeff Hardy innovated one of the most popular matches in the WWE universe; The Table, ladders, and chair match. 

• Besides being a good wrestler, he is a very good actor. He worked for several TV commercials, shows and movies including 70s Show, Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies and Scare Tactics and Fear Factor. 

• He is also a good author. He wrote the book, The Hardy Boys: Exit 2 Inspire ( A Biography) co-authored by Michael Krugman.
