- His father was physically abusive to his mother leading to their divorce during Mateo’s childhood.
- After the divorce, his mother did various odd jobs such as house cleaning and selling empanadas, meat pies etc.
- In 2018, he grew his hair to donate to his mother as she was suffering from cancer. In 2021, he donated his hair to a woman after his mother became free from cancer.
